I have two beautiful watercolor paintings by an artist named Paul Remely. These were obtained in the early 70's in NE Pennsylvania (Scranton). I have been able to find no information on this guy, but if someone out there knows of him (he May be dead after all),.

Paul Remely was my grandfather, and yes he has passed on. He was fairly well known in the Lehigh Valley. He resided in Bethlehem. You May have seen the steel "Family of Man" sculpture on Broad Street in Bethlehem. He designed it. I'm glad you are enjoying two of his works! I'll tell my grandmother. She'll be happy to hear it too!

I too have a Paul Remely painting hanging in my living room. It is titled Mary Lou's Cummings Farm in Lenhartsville, PA. It was purchased by my Grandmother in Pacific Beach, CA. I love it. It is a painting of a farm with the Pennsyvania Dutch symbols on it. I'd love to get a photograph of the original. It's nice to see a little information on him.

Paul Remely was my father, who died in 1973. He was primarily a watercolorist, but also dabbled in oils, acrylics and sculpture. The farm you refer to still exists, but I'm not certain about Mary Lou Cummings. My father sold his paintings mostly in the northeast, particularly at the Mystic and Old Lime sidewalk shows in Connecticut.
He lived in Bethlehem, PA his entire life and painted most of his work in and around the Lehigh Valley.
